Myself and my boyfriend went into Rue21 to do some shopping for our upcoming vacation to Las Vegas. Just thought we would take a friendly stroll through the store to see if he found anything he would like.

He (my boyfriend) found a pair of shorts and a shirt that he really liked. However, the sign that was posted above the shorts read "Buy one item at regular price get one pair of shorts for 5 bucks." The sign was surrounded with shorts and shirts, so we assumed that you buy a shirt at full price you get the shorts for $5, right? Well, we went up to the register once my boyfriend was done looking around, and he asked the cashier about their deal just to clarify. "So, you buy one item at regular price and the shorts are $5 correct?" her response was "No, you have to buy a pair of shorts to get a pair for 5 dollars, That's how a BOGO works.

Have you ever been shopping before?" My boyfriend awkwardly laughed, not knowing what to say in return. He decided to only purchase the shorts, because he was mislead on the final price. We then went to Old Navy and he got himself 2 shirts, a pair of khakis and a pair of swim trunks for about $10 more. We promptly went back and returned the Rue21 shorts.

As for myself, I purchased a pair of light weight shorts for our trip, threw them in the washer and they came out looking like a small child had chewed on them for an hour, mangled! Not to mention they try to shove their $10 perfume/cologne down your throat. Which most of them smell like elephant dung.

Not a good time! 2/10.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

You are dumb, both your boyfriend and you misunderstood the sign.

I agree for every one pair of shorts they buy they get one for $5 not the rest. You may be old enough to have a boyfriend but you don't act that age.

The sign was worded wrong and ask you people saying otherwise are idiots. Learn English.

"Buy one ITEM at regular price get one pair of SHORTS for 5 bucks."

It the only item you could buy for the sale was SHORTS, then the sign should have said SHORTS.

EITHER:

"Buy one pair of SHORTS at regular price get one pair of SHORTS for 5 bucks."

OR "Buy one pair of SHORTS at regular price get a second pair for 5 bucks." Anyone who understands English would have asked if that meant one item from that shelf or one item from the store. Horrible sign and apparently the people who shop there are horrible and ***.

That store is a joke! It's why sweat shops exist!

You ask a question about a sale you already understand and the cashier answers you? Of course it's going to sound like you don't go shopping and don't know how bogo works.

Or is it you just want to get whatever you want and you decide the price? A little of both I think.

Maybe the employee was flirting with your BF.. at any rate, I wouldn't worry about a minimum wage cashier at Rue21 insulting me..I mean, look at their situation!

So on Sunday I went to rue 21 to do some shopping. Behind the counter were 3 employees and in front of the register were 2 friends of the employees.

I could clearly hear their private conversation !! The one African American woman looked at me and made a disgusting face and said loud and clearly that she hates those white *** who come in here, in her Store and bother her. The response of her two friends in front of me, and her colleges was a very loud " that's right", and a evil look over their shoulder. I threw my items in the shelf and left.

I do not think that it is right to be discriminated for color, look, or nationality. I have experienced this many times before, and to say clearly I am tired of it !! I by my self are not a American, and I am not judging anyone by anything. But my opinion is, employees like that need to be fired.

If you, as a EMPLOYEE don't understand that us CUSTOMER secure YOUR JOB, than there is no help for you. To get respect you need to give respect. But obviously not in that case.

Why bother shopping in a place like that, and spend your hard earned money if you can spend it some other shop, where you are appreciated, and the quality of items in general is WAY BETTER.
