I was emailed a coupon for $20 off $40. I bought a bunch of stuff and was told my clearance wouldn't add towards the $40 so I said that's fine and went back to look for more.

An associate told me the sandals, which were buy one get one for $5 would work towards that $40 so I could get $20 off. It did work and I left happy. After the bogo and coupon one pair of sandals came to $9.35 the other $4.12. They came out so cheap because the $20 off coupon *** a certain amount from each qualifying item instead of just taking $20 off the total.

I took the tag off one pair and walked to our pool and noticed the piece that goes between the toe that was plastic was ripped and was terribly uncomfortable and they felt too big so a week later I went into rue 21 to just exchange them. Before I went to look I told the associate that I bought the sandals on sale and with a coupon, if the new sandals I picked out were the same price could I just exchange? She said yeah of course ill keep the sandals up here. They didn't have the exact sandals I bought anymore so I brought up two different ones with the same original price.

She tells me the pair I took the tag off of she could do nothing with because they show signs of wear. I said yea but they hurt to wear and they were ripped in the toe area. She didn't care. She said well I will give you store credit and when we do the exchange we will use that.

I said fine, however way it will work. She then says okay your total is $16.94.. I said wait, I owe you for exchanging for the same thing? She said yes.

I told her that was ridiculous and I was told I could do this exchange. She said it doesn't matter and I owe her money. I tried being pleasant but I could tell I was about to get pissy so I told her to just give me the sandals back and I would give them to someone, she then told me that I would still owe money. I argued until I left with the sandals I originally came in with, a defective pair and the other pair I never wore...

They are ridiculous. I want my money back not the defective pair of sandals and the other pair. She was very rude and talked to me like I was an ***.

I'm never the person to complain at restaurants or anywhere, I work in retail so I know how it is having terrible customers. This lady was just in a bad mood to start.

Monetary Loss: $15.

I work in retail and regardless if they're the same price, if they're not the same EXACT item, they can't be an even exchange, it messes with the system.

They should have immediately exchanged them no questions asked. Thats policy.

if it's a defective product you can go to the manufacturer and explain why you can't do it through the store. send them a couple picks through email.

They might be able to do something for you.
