Rue 21 - Discrimination
I am a worker for RGIS and I am just disgusted with the way a young African American girl was treated when we did inventory in Wichita. She was so sweet and so funny she had me and another worker so tickled.
But there was a manager who kept picking on her he would come to our section and scrutinize everything she did and then tell her she couldnโt do anything I told her to keep her head up itโs ok. Towards the end of the night she was talking to another worker while counting and asked could he get the skew check she was counting and this same manager interrupted her from across the room and made the nastiest comment he told her โyouโre going to do whatever I tell you toโ and told her to go to another section and she asked โwhy would she go over there if she wasnโt done hereโ and he was so nasty to her and sent her home after being very disrespectful. She was in tears and she did nothing wrong anybody would have raised their voice he was talking to her like she was a slave and I will not be a bystander I came to visit the store in Wichita on June 22nd and she was there and she now tells me they took her off the schedule for no reason and I hope she brings a discrimination case against your company I am also reporting this to RGIS corporate in hopes that they no longer do business with you if you let this continue. That poor girl was the sweetest thing.
Myself and a couple of other workers are also willing to testify and I encouraged her to bring a case. I will keep messaging until I get a response and some action is taken. Never let your love ones work here. They promote racism retaliation and management who hide behind their position.
It is disgusting to watch a young woman be brought to tears and she had to walk out at 1AM by herself that should be illegal. Whoever I need to get this to I will if I have to write a letter

My daughters work at rue 21 in maplewood MN and have experienced similar behavior from management as well as the manager has made comments about black Americans and uses racial overtones to describe and hide his personal feelings about black Americans. Itโs obvious that there is a problem with this company and itโs management staff and seeing that a large a large portion of it customer base is black maybe itโs time to boycott the stores and let them know racist behavior by their management staff will not be tolerated.
yeah sure.it probably looked like she was being mistreated to you, because everyone owes you something huh...lmao... I call bs because everything is descrimination to you idiots and 99% of the time you do it to yourselves or you start trouble then cry. PLEASE spare me
I had seen your comment on another website. I hate to see this and I assure you that this is not the case in all the rue 21 stores.
I am a manager at the rue 21 in Winston Salem. But I think you are doing the right thing for standing up for such discrimination as that is highly unacceptable in our company.
I have contacted the company several times and got no response I will not let this be suppressed there are too many times that has happened and nothing was done. I would like to directly email that persons boss if possible
